Turner Motorsport Enters Dream Team For Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona Race

Rolex/Grand Am Sports Car | Justin Anfinson | January 18, 2010 at 11:47 pm

Armed with a Riley Technologies race built BMW M6 coupe, Turner Motorsport is expanding its race team into the Rolex/Grand Am Sports Car Series GT class for the 2010 season.

The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona will be the kick start of the season and the highly successful North American BMW race team Turner Motorsport will have a driver line-up there to match the superiority of its tubular framed, complete carbon fiber body work BMW M6 powered by a purpose built M Power 5.0L V8. They’ve paired the impressive race car with BMW factory pilots Bill Auberlen and Joey Hand who previously drove last year’s BMW M3 GT2 in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). Joining them will be Paul Dalla Lana who drove the 2009 Turner Motorsport E90 328i and road racer/NASCAR driver Boris Said.

Look for Turner Motorsport to be a solid contender this year in the GT class, following a third and fifth place GS team championship finish last year with their BMW M3’s. Of course they will also debuting  their new 2010 GS class E92 M3 at the season opening of the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Jan 29/10 – the same weekend as the Rolex 24 race event.
