2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider

The breathtaking Alfa Romeo 8C Spider was designed by the Alfa Romeo Design Center and is the cabriolet version of the popular Alfa 8C Competizione Gran Turismo model. It follows and highlights a list of heavy hitting Alfa Spiders from the past such as the Giulietta of the 50’s and the legendary Duetto of the 60’s.

The 8C Spider features a fully automatic electro-hydraulic fold multi-fabric fold away roof which provides a remarkable amount of sound deadening. The powerhouse is a 90 degree 4.7L V8 which produces 450bhp at 7000 RPM and 480 Nm of torque at just only 4750 RPM with a top redline of 7500 RPM. The 6 speed gearbox is link to a torque split limited slip differential.

The exterior of the car is a lightweight carbon fiber body with carbon fiber completing the look of the dashboard inside. The steel frame chassis sits on front and rear double wishbone suspension with 380mm front rotors and 360mm rear rotors providing the stopping power.

Acceleration of the Alfa Romeo 8C is a clean 0-60 in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 180.2 mph. Braking distance from 60-0 is only 108 ft. The 8C Spider is a well balanced ride sitting at a 49%/51% weight distribution ratio. Standard tires sizes on the Alfa are 245/35R20 in the front and 285/35R20 in the rear providing the traction necessary to achieve these numbers.
